Swimming with crocs

ok, well what actually happened was almost all my stuff went in to the river that is between between Angola and Namibia. so this river has cholera so was very interesting as all my stuff had to be cleaned and dry out all the electrial thiongs that i actually have with me. i throw away my electrial razor, and now my phone isnt working. so fun fun fun. but for some strange reason my harddrive works :)

that was mega annoyance and also things didnt seem to go well. but as i was talking with an friend i realised this weird new chest pain that i have never felt before; and she thought that it might be anxiety and as i saw this over the next few days it went away as i made sure that i didnt think about things and as im now trying to do is use a box system thinking about issues. its great having older than me people on my travels who have experience in the world and in life to help talk things through with.

but other stories to tell you have been watching my friend nearly kick by a zebra after going to stroke its main but it turning around so it could kick him. haha. also today when visting vic falls from the zambia side i was grabbed by an babboon, which was mega funny as soon as it let go. but having now seen the falls from both sides and getting wet both sides (Zimbabwe and Zambia) i am glad that we managed to sneek into the zambia side as it was wetter and less and impressive. i love zimbabwe, so if u ever want to travel there i will come if i have the money (but deff if ur paying).

i am now feeling used to the hassel of street people to buy there goods and made a friend today who because i took his picture and thereforth taking him to england (a dream of going for him) he gave me a copper braclet and wouldnt take money for it. i also used cans (drink) in the market to trade today, makes u realise how much we waste.

so really enjoyed botswanna and the delta and chobe national park, lots of elephants (saw a baby one, like 15 months ish) and lots of hippos. and also the day drive through zimbabwe, yes bonnie i said i would love to go visit your country. haha

so now am in zambia and cant wait to leave this expensive tourist hotspot called livingstone. haha, we really are entering the real africa as we travel futher north. i am really excited about the next part of the travels through malawi.

but i am safe and well, now have a new tour leader for the new leg and rest of my travel with the company. things are ok, but no phone. haha, silly river taking most of my things for a swimming lesson.

police and banks

just to start with this very luckily did not enclude me but it has affected us all!

during our stay at swakopmund we had free time, i decided to actually keep it that and not fill it up with activities however my time has been busy and filled up. this has been due to a loss of money (stolen) from the safe (well, hard to rename). this happened between arriving in swakopmund and the fiest afternoon. it turned out that when taken for cleaning it was removed there and they did this by prying open the top of the safe.

we found out four people were missing money, and down came to search the safe (all in a group meeting on the truck). then the 4 + 3 crew went to the police station and may reports. hours later and left, they had little choice of food so take away and came home. only to read their statements and see it didnt fit to what they had said.
so this morning they went back and i also went along as had jobs to do with some of them when they finished. lucikly i was able to be used to talk to different people between truck and station and be an english reader to the not litterate who cant read or weite english (our cook). but an awesome guy that he is. we finished up at the police station 3-4 hrs later with new statements which also has reference numbers this time. and we went to jobs (ended up with asha and dealing with banks for many ours in 2 banks and phone calls to uk). finishing at 3:30 eventually since starting police station before 9:30 this morn. lots been going on, but thwy went to place where we knew was stolen and found the guys (who 10 of them confessed straight away). so arrested and taken to their houses to pick up the moeny. lots has been recovered but we are unable to get it until after monday and their court date. so we are leaving an crew member here who will catch us up later. this has been my stress for the last 24hrs since discovery to recovery and the changing dinamica of the group.

gtg, be on soon

drago- Capetown to Swakopmund (SA to Namibia)

so i am currently sat in swakopmund which is an coastal town in namibia. its been an interesting last couple of days, but will put that in a seperate blog. so left captown and sad my goodbyes a few days earlier than planned but due to trip changes that was my transport and way out of Capetown (without spending more money).

up we went staying at critusdell that night after visiting the penguins at boulders and then down to cape point and cape of good hope. looking out onto the ocean indian sea and alantic ocean (or the border is around there, lol). but was an awesome sight and love the rough sea that is alantic around capetown. then the next day, or last saturday i crossed the border into namibia, after troubles with my bank in the last town of south africa. with some money and the border it looked up to a great adventure. this was confirmed that night when we as a group really felt like an group of 20people. yes it has grown from 8 to 20, lol. we stayed at Orange river just on the namibian side, it was lovely, but rocky bottom during where i swam and found no diamonds so sorry dad will still need some help through uni. haha. place called felix unite.

now we had a evening and started realising that i was one of the last people up, ops. but had a sleep in at orange river (7:30 breakfast not 6:30). and slow morning as some guys went kayaking down the river. packed up with my job being on the top of the roof putting up mattrasses and tents and doing the knots to keep them up there, lol. it is hard in the heat of the day but ok! just very sweaty. from there we went up to hobbas and fish river canyon. in debate as to if the 2nd or 3rd largest caynon in the world (after 'grand' in us). watch the sunset and had a cheese and wine party there and enjoyed the stars and moon; the moon is doing weird things like going up and down before midnight and changing colours and its very amussing. i believe it has something to do with the close to the equator.
next morning up with little sleep again and watched the sunrise and breakfast at the caynon again. that was the best sunrise i have ever seen!!!! totally mint.
journeyed up to keetmanshoope (big spello) and stayed at a place where they feed and look after cheetahs' so i was able to touch one. or two! but one of our crew had made an instant disslikeing to the cheetah and it showed its teeth and grawelled at him. very scarry but funny to watch. it was ok and noone hurt but lots of people felt very on edge. then up to giants playground to walk around, play around and watch thge sun set.

then it was into the desert and up even earlier! we drove all day from 6am and arrived 5pm with only a couple of stops. this day i got a double seat for a while and had a gd sleep!!! i was even checked with to see if i was ill as was so sound asleep. haha. swim and nice sun set to eat dinner with. up 5:30 so drive 45km to dune 45 (co-incident) and walk up to top bout 120m for sunrise. running down and few photos enroute back to truck for breakie. broke down on drive futher into desert to meet an man who was going to guide us in a walk on the desert and see the area. he ended up coming and picking us up from where we broke down. very hot and met christie (the truck) at carpark and then start the drive to swakopmund. on the last bit was a 30km drive up the coast and that was someone's first time they had seen a sun set over water!! 29yr old oz (but lived east coast, so only ever had sun rise over water).

we then had a bed for our stay in swakopmund :)
