Chinatown and Niight Life!

the zoo was great fun! lots to see and so many interesting creatures, it really made me have an great day. ontop of that i spent it with family who i managed to slip straight into knowing however not seen them for 8 years and not met 2 of my cousins, crazy isnt it!! but it was enjoyable.

check out that kangaroo!!! how crazy is that joey! was well amazing to see how big their pouches stretch!!

that was my day time and then came back to my carraige sleeping apartment (hopefully will try to get a pic, but feel stupid just going to take an photo of were i was sleeping, plus not tuck anyway so might be seen). but in the eve i saw an advert for an pizza place with free jug beer with pizza befor 9pm so i went off in trek. it wasnt to be seen so i decided that i would go and find somewhere that looked gd. i ended up walking down some industrial looking streets and stumbled upon following the lights CHINATOWN, oh yes, so i walked up and down and decided that none of them looked that great, but choose one. outside apprences decive people! it was well nice almost on posh (well it was posh they had there napkins in an fan shaped thing). so i had table for one and enjoyed some fantastic food!!!

walking back i decided that as tired as i was that going to bed at 8:30 wasnt allowed so i thought that i was too tired to socialise, dont be too shocked so would you after a stupidly long delayed flight (held on the plane delayed) arriving the day befor with waking up ever few hours sleep. so i thought i'd venture back to see the harbour at night! and take some photos :D

sorry i havent worked out how to rotate images yet!

Sydney Bridge's Flag Sydney Opera House

currently now im awaiting Matt's arrival, he has arrived in Sydney and at the hotel for tonight however i am here, not there so we are going to meet up and go off for some adventures (hope he managed to sleep on the plane) but for those who wanna know, i had an much better sleep last night. 10:30-8 :) so am very happy, think that i will be ok now to keep going in aussi time, not dave time.

Australia :)

i tryed to log on to internet in Singapore but the computer was going so mega slow that i gavce up during the log in to the blog after i'd been standing at that computer for 10mins.

so here i am! i have finally arrived and slept my first night (not on a plan) in the joueny that will last me 259days well, 2 gone now due to travelling so only 257 left and i'll be home. what a though and yet at the same time i have the biggest smile on my face!

the flights werent the best i've had but in and out of sleep on them both and a few films thrown in too, so they're all good and wish there were some better films on the system to watch but hey, it might hav ment that i got more sleep, which i needed. i was so used to being in and out of sleep that when i got here and went to bed at that late hour of 10:30 i was in and out of sleep waking ever few hours. but here i am, breakfasted (coco pops and milk with left over milk as drink, mmm) but alive and well, with 7-8 hors sleep behind me.

dave is now raring to go! and he's off to the zoo today, and taking an ferry to get there!!! but needs to decide if walking to getting the train to the circular quay for the ferry, but i can just sort all that out later.

but the upsetting thing was that i was stuck in an plane in one seat for 24hours with an hour walking in singapore terminal inbetween and attempting to get on the internet. so i must be off as the sun is out and im wasting precious tanning tiome (like that is an issue as no winter till arrive back in june in UK, or is that ment to be summer :S)

i am leaving to start an adventure that will be excessively long (or thats how it feels at the mo) but i know that when i next touch British soil again it will feel like nothing has changed. but at the same time everything has changed!!

Goodbye England and hello lots of questions and slight changes in culture (x lots)

It still hasnt sunk in!

its all change here. my last shift today, in all silliness an double as was in devon yesterday seeing the guys for the last time properly; so very minimal sleep.

saying goodbyes have been totally weird, and im going to leave it at that. im am waiting for all the emotion of life to catch up with me, and i believe that it will be on the plane, but thats ok as i wont have anyone to talk to and so can merge my thoughts. that is the start of my 259 day journey, coming to grips with the decisions i have made about leaving for this trip and the idea of leaving the people that i enjoy being with and hanging out.

LIFE IS JUST STRANGE, and yet so thrilling because of it.

time, where does it go?

i think that i need to start with an apology to you fellow bloggers! i just haven't had time to be able to read them :(

so whats been going on with me over the last few days, i've slowly been getting into my brain that im leaving; as strange as that sounds i have only just realised how long i am going as as saying goodbyes for 9months is really weird. this week is so hard to try and fit everyone in who i really want to see, so am sadly having to prioritise my life :S

after still working silly hours i have just finished an 16hr day and am feeling like that i am still staying here! but surprisingly i have started to arrange things that i need to take and there is a small pile. maybe there is a chance that i am going away!! lol

the main thoughts have been my journey here to this place where i am today! my journey with other people and with God and how things that have slotted into place have brought me to where i am today with the comfortable life that i am used to and wondering what will happen. but this jouney now that i now entering into will challenge me as well guide me. as this is what really excites me about this year and my the journey and life that i am about to create.

Organising :S

haha, what a word! organising, i have got to the point of having to have a list to be able to organise things. best thing is that i have managed to start ticking off things on the list :D

but the main thing that i need to tick off hasn't yet been able to get done! (not to self just remember to add another thing to the list [hair cut] lol) but back to my thoughts, no news on my passport yet! it is currently sat in New Zealand House or even better in the post on its way back to me. that would be even better!! but on the phones today i did manage to get to speak to some lovely people at Plymouth uni who were able to give me advice on the questions i asked. how nice, as this is not an experience i seem to have recently from a few phone calls i've had to make for enquiries for travel planning and visa obtaining etc.

Last night i had my leaving drinks and kinda birthdaqy drinks too!! and was nice to take over the pub we went too, with lots of people turning up; so thank you to those that came and tried to come!! it hit me last night that i have like no time left to see people so i think that i will be having long late nights as people seem to be busy during the day! how shocking :P but i totally cant wait to go but at the same time life is comfortable now, i think its the waiting that i just dont do!! i dont like it, im just a doing person.

surprising a long post but your the one reading it! lol

It's in sight!!

i still don't know how i feel about going away! its my birthday slash leaving drinks this evening and i haven't really been excited about it. i was thinking about that today and i think that it is because when it happens it actually means that i will be going. things are starting to wind down and realisation is kicking in!! but life is still ticking over fast so that i can't think about it all. even this is crammed in and that is partly what is so appealing about my travels, FLEXIBILITY.

but what am i going to miss? deff, People; who i work with, who i spend time with, who i go out for drinks with. who i miss when im not around them. these are all my friends and what makes me enjoy my life!! this is bristol to me, and it's going to be weird to leave it all behind and all you behind however so excited too

so now just trying to fit in everyone before i leave :( (seems impossible, but i will try)

September the 4th!

Happy September the 4th!!

so everything is starting to come together; i finally booked my flight home only to then realise i was thinking about coming home the day before but hey, whats and extra day when im away for 259 days?! started pulling together all my itinerary's into one place and i can see that it is coming together!! I KNOW WHAT COUNTRY I'M GOING TO BE IN WHEN :D

i am really enjoying having a very quiet week at work this week, i do keep thinking about the money that i could be earning but i know that i did 62 hrs last week and next week im having a busy again. oh well, the money is worth it when i work out how much i need when im away. now that things are starting to come together i can see the few loop holes that i have, for example a bag to carry everything in, but hey, where's the fun in organising the whole trip before you go! lol

My Journey has started!

here i am! starting the journey that can change who i am and how i will view the world for the rest of my life. what a scary thought. now with 26 days to go until i leave the UK for the bigger world, i finally got round to finishing off sorting out my visa for a work permit for New Zealand (eventually, with all left to do is actually sending it off).
my mind is boggled by everything, all the work that i have been doing and all the small things that i have left to do before i go. for example confirm the date that i wish to arrive home etc (ops) and sort out what i don't mind people getting me for my birthday for when i go away! but for now i am slowly working through the list and today's job was visa and now it seems sorting out my blog! how exciting. now all i need to do is remember the password and to continue to update it as i go around the place!
the question i want to be able to answer is how do i feel about my travels, mmm...

well i'm not sure that i can even answer that, it is going between excitement, fear, and ideas of the potential impacts that it could have on me. but what am i worried about most? probably the idea that i may come back with the same views on the world and God. how am i going to journey with God over the time i am away is going to be a challenge especially as i enter into cultures and people's lifestyles that will have no place for this supreme being. but what am i most looking forward to? at the moment the idea of all the photo's that i will be able to take :D and the memories that will be unique within each shot captured.
