ok, i have had an totally memorible trip over Africa. with more stories coming up when i return to the land of internet. but i will breifly explain what im up to at the moment;
i am currently visiting a friend from school, Zoe, who has been out in Kenya since jan working in an local school. the school teaches some of the poorest kids in nakuru and i have had the pleasure of meeting them this week. i have also been to two orphanages this week and meet some great kids. in the first we visited the barber-shop to cut some of the kids hair and mine ended up being done too, mmm. but dont worry i have some left. (Although its not the first hair cut since being travelling through Africa).
yesterday i 'stepped' up to teach some lessons; i first had PE with Zoe's class then i joined Zoe covering another teacher and ended up with my first maths class and then the marking to go with it. so today i was then landed with standard 5 maths (Annie's class) with no time to prepare only the knowledge that i was taking it at some point that day. i feel it went ok, but the 3hrs it took to mark afterwards wasnt so pleasant, although it only took 2 1/4 mins each book, yes i had 80kids in my class. it was also fractions and simplfing so it went alright especially the examples i had to make up on the spot on the board seemed to work alright.
had some great convos with some of the kids (esp at the orphanges) and looking forward to being able to update these. i have also been able to see my first friend for 8months from home, although a couple of near visits with some people. it is makng me realise that im ready to see people and that i enjoy not having to be constantly making friends through-out the different places i travel.
